about us
Soliton Research is a holding space for tracks produced by its artists. These tracks are made available as low bit rate mp3s under a creative commons licence with the primary purpose of promoting this material. All of Soliton Research's artists are interested in getting a commercial release for their tracks and all original compositions on this site are currently unsigned.
Soliton Research also releases mixes put together by its artists and wider circle of friends.
Soliton Research was spawned from the Acre House mix sessions that took place at the end of last century. Its founder members shared a love of electronic music and soon turned their hilltop residence into an environment constantly alive with the sound of machine funk. The walls that once housed these luscious beats now rest peacefully, while the sounds of their former residents now resonate within new spaces.
In recent years their musical interests have taken new directions, and they are now involved with adding to the every growing library of electronic music that keeps the planet alive. Despite the present dispersion of the founder members, physical distance has been made irrelevant through the use of the vast communications infrastructures that lie underneath our landscape. These technologies enable our artists to work together within a virtual studio environment, as well as undertaking their separate solo projects.
Soliton Research is an ongoing project and new music will be added as it becomes available.
